Nateq publishes this guide and is one of the eight products in it. Every claim about another product links to that product's own page or a published report, checked on 17 October 2026. If something is out of date, email hello@nateq.io and we will correct it.
The best Arabic AI chatbot for WhatsApp depends on who writes to you and what the bot has to do. For a small or mid-size business that mainly needs WhatsApp, look at Nateq, Wati and Chakra Chat; of the three, only Nateq names the Gulf dialects it handles on its own pages. For a government or enterprise project that needs Arabic AI hosted in the region, look at WideBot and Arabot. Brands whose care runs on public social media should look at Lucidya, sales-led messaging teams at respond.io, and phone-first contact centres at ZIWO.
Why WhatsApp and dialect decide the shortlist
WhatsApp is where Gulf customers write first. Saudi Arabia's Communications, Space and Technology Commission puts WhatsApp's usage rate in the Kingdom at 92.7%, the highest of any social platform (CST Saudi Internet Report 2025, via Arab News). In the UAE, 85% of residents want every business to offer WhatsApp for support, and 65% contacted a business on WhatsApp in the past year, against 55% by call centre and 48% by email (Zbooni and YouGov, 2024).
Customers also expect a way out of the bot. In a survey of 3,566 customers, 87% said a company using GenAI for service must offer a way to reach a human agent (Gartner, August 2026).
"GenAI is more helpful when it collects information, understands intent and attempts resolution only when confidence is high, with a clear path to human support." — Eric Keller, Sr Director Analyst, Gartner Customer Service & Support Practice
How we chose
- Access to the official WhatsApp Business Platform (the API), not the phone app
- Arabic support, and which dialects the vendor names on its own pages
- An AI agent that answers from your own content
- Handoff to a person with the conversation attached
- Voice: phone calls, WhatsApp calls or voice notes
- Published pricing and a free trial
- Where customer data is hosted
Where a vendor's pages do not state something, the table says "Not stated". That means we could not find it, not that the product lacks it.
1. Nateq — best for businesses whose customers write in Gulf dialect across WhatsApp, calls and chat
Nateq is an AI customer service platform that puts WhatsApp, website chat, phone and WhatsApp calls, email, Instagram and Facebook in one inbox. Its AI agent answers in Gulf Arabic including Saudi and Emirati, Egyptian, Levantine and Maghrebi Arabic, Franco-Arabic and mixed Arabic-English, and hands the customer to staff with the full conversation when it is not confident (Arabic chatbot). Plans are per seat with a 14-day free trial and no card, and Meta bills WhatsApp delivery directly with no markup (pricing).
Trade-offs: data is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt) today, not in the GCC, and Nateq is new, so there are no independent reviews yet.
2. WideBot — best for governments and enterprises that need Arabic AI hosted in the region
WideBot describes itself as "the MENA leading Arabic-first AI-as-a-Service platform for governments and enterprises", with an omnichannel inbox, WhatsApp Business API, AI agent, digital humans and social listening across WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, live chat, SMS and email (widebot.ai). In October 2025 it launched a voice AI agent for WhatsApp that understands Saudi, Egyptian and Emirati Arabic and is hosted locally in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt; its AQL language model "can understand more than 25 Arabic dialects" (Sharikat Mubasher, 14 October 2025).
Trade-offs: no prices are published; the pricing page leads to a sales meeting (widebot.ai/pricing).
3. Arabot — best for regulated enterprises building custom Arabic bots
Arabot calls itself an Arabic artificial intelligence company and offers an agent builder, chatbots, a campaign manager and a live-agent desk across WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, SMS and web chat. Its site lists projects for Aramex (WhatsApp shipment-delivery automation), the UAE's Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and Saudi National Bank, and shows SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA and GDPR badges (arabot.io).
Trade-offs: the dialects it supports and its prices are not listed on the pages we checked.
4. Lucidya — best for brands whose customer care runs on public social media
Lucidya is a customer experience platform for monitoring conversations, analysing sentiment and engaging customers. Its OmniServe inbox handles social media, WhatsApp, email and web chat, and it names 15 Arabic dialects, from Khaliji to Maghrebi (lucidya.com). It offers full data residency in Saudi Arabia (security practices). OmniServe Growth is $125 per seat a month with a minimum of six seats; phone calls come through the Call Analytics add-on (OmniServe pricing). See Nateq vs Lucidya.

Starter is $79 a month billed yearly with five users included (pricing). See Nateq vs respond.io.
6. Wati — best for small teams starting on the WhatsApp Business API
Wati is a Meta Business Partner with a team inbox, no-code chatbots, Instagram automation, WhatsApp Business Calling and an AI agent called Astra; its homepage demo shows an Arabic voice note answered in Arabic (wati.io). The Growth plan includes three users with no additional users; Pro includes five, with extra users at $24 a month each; there is a 7-day free trial (pricing).
Trade-offs: dialects are not named, and Growth-plan email support is listed in English and Portuguese, 24×5.
7. Chakra Chat — best for the lowest entry price on the WhatsApp Business API
Chakra Chat is a WhatsApp CRM from an official Meta Business Partner, with broadcasts, a shared inbox, chatbots, AI agents and WhatsApp calling, and it charges no markup on Meta's template rates (chakrahq.com). There is a free plan; paid plans are listed from $12.49 a month (Starter), with AI features from Growth at $24.99, a 7-day trial with no card, and ticket-based support with a 24-hour first response (pricing).
Trade-offs: Arabic is not mentioned on the pages we checked.
8. ZIWO — best for phone-first contact centres that want an Arabic voice agent
ZIWO is a cloud contact centre for the MENA region, with a business phone system, a contact centre and an Arabic-speaking AI voice agent (ziwo.io). The voice agent is trained on Saudi dialects and customer data is hosted in Saudi Arabia (AI voice agent). WhatsApp comes with the Cloud Contact Center plan at $109 per user a month; the phone system starts at $40 per user a month, minimum three users (pricing). See Nateq vs ZIWO.

How to test an Arabic WhatsApp chatbot before you buy
- Send ten real customer messages in your customers' dialect, including Franco-Arabic and a voice note, and read every reply.
- Ask for something the bot should not decide, such as a refund above your limit, and check that it hands over to a person with the thread attached.
- Ask who bills the WhatsApp message fees and whether the platform adds a markup. Our WhatsApp cost calculator shows Meta's rates by country.
- Ask where conversations are stored. Saudi Arabia's PDPL and the UAE's data protection law can matter for regulated sectors.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best Arabic AI chatbot for WhatsApp?
The one that matches your customers' dialect and your channels. For a business whose customers write in Gulf dialect and also call, Nateq covers WhatsApp, calls and chat in one inbox. Enterprises that need in-region hosting should look at WideBot, Lucidya or ZIWO.
Which WhatsApp chatbots understand Saudi dialect?
Of the eight, Nateq, WideBot (its voice agent) and ZIWO (its voice agent) name Saudi dialect on their own pages, and Lucidya names Khaliji. The others do not state which dialects they handle, so test them with real messages.
How much does an AI chatbot for WhatsApp cost?
Expect two bills: the platform, and Meta's per-message WhatsApp fees. Published platform prices on this list run from a free Chakra Chat plan and $12.49 a month, to $79 a month for five users on respond.io, to $125 per seat a month on Lucidya, while WideBot and Arabot quote on request.
Can an Arabic chatbot hand a WhatsApp conversation to a person?
Yes, and it should: 87% of customers say a company using GenAI must offer a way to reach a human. Check that the handoff keeps the full thread, so the customer does not repeat themselves.
