01 · Language
Arabic support: dialects, Arabizi and mixed messages
Arabic is often treated as a single language setting. In practice, customers in Riyadh, Dubai and Kuwait write in their own dialect, switch to Arabizi (Franco-Arabic) on their phones, and drop English product names into the same sentence.
Nateq's AI agent is built for that mix. It reads Gulf Arabic including Saudi, other regional dialects, Franco-Arabic and Arabic-English code-switching, and replies in the register the customer used, so a casual WhatsApp message doesn't get a stiff Modern Standard Arabic answer back.
On respond.io's public pages: Arabic language support is available (Arabic among the Voice AI Agent's voices).[5]
02 · Channels
WhatsApp, social, chat and email in one inbox
In the GCC, customers reach businesses on WhatsApp first, Instagram second, and everything else after that. Where those messages land decides how quickly your team can answer.
On Nateq, the WhatsApp Business Platform, Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger, website chat and email arrive in one shared inbox on every plan, with the same ticketing and SLA rules applied to each.
On respond.io's public pages: The WhatsApp Business Platform (API) is available (Official API; badged Meta Business Partner). Instagram DMs are available. Facebook Messenger is available. Website live chat is available (Website Chat widget). An email inbox is available.[1][2][3][4]
03 · Voice
Calls in the same place as chat
Phone still matters for payments, deliveries and complaints. When calls live in a separate tool, agents lose the thread of the conversation.
Nateq rings phone and WhatsApp calls in the same inbox on every plan, and an AI voice agent can answer in Arabic. Voice minutes come from the same prepaid wallet as AI resolutions.
On respond.io's public pages: Phone calls are available (Calls channel; plan availability not stated). An AI voice agent is available on some plans only (Advanced plan and up; inbound calls only, up to 3 minutes each).[4][5]
04 · Pricing
What you actually pay each month
The seat price is only part of the bill. The real number depends on how many conversations your AI resolves and which channels you need.
Nateq charges per seat per month with every channel included. AI resolutions and voice minutes come out of a prepaid wallet, so you can see usage costs before they are spent. Meta bills WhatsApp conversations to you directly, with no markup from Nateq.
On respond.io's public pages: respond.io publishes these plans: Starter at $79 per month billed yearly, 5 users included; Growth at $159 per month billed yearly, 10 users included; Advanced at $279 per month billed yearly, 10 users included. The AI agent is available on some plans only (Growth plan and up).[4]
05 · Payments
Taking payment inside the conversation
In the Gulf, a lot of support ends in a payment: a delivery fee, a booking deposit, an outstanding invoice. Sending the customer to another page is where many of those payments drop off.
Nateq sends payment links inside the chat through Moyasar (mada, Apple Pay) and Tap, as well as Stripe, so customers can pay without leaving WhatsApp.
The respond.io pages we checked don't list GCC payment links such as mada or Tap. Check which providers are available, and what they cost, before relying on them.
06 · Setup
Setup and time to first answer
Nateq's trial lasts 14 days and doesn't ask for a card. Most teams start by connecting one channel, usually WhatsApp, and importing help articles and policies so the AI agent answers from them.
On respond.io's public pages: A free trial is available (7 days).[4]
07 · Compliance
Data hosting, security and compliance
We'd rather say this plainly. Nateq hosts data in the EU (Frankfurt), not in the GCC, and does not yet have a SOC 2 report.
The respond.io pages we checked don't state its hosting regions or certifications. If your procurement requires in-region hosting or a SOC 2 report, ask both vendors for them in writing.
08 · Integrations
Integrations and ecosystem
Nateq focuses on what Gulf businesses use most: Meta's channels, HubSpot and Salesforce, regional payment providers and calendars, with a REST API and webhooks for anything custom.
On respond.io's public pages: HubSpot and Salesforce integrations are available.[4]
